Beth's research is on the evolution and physiology of animal coloration. She did her undergraduate degree at IU, where she did a three-year field project analyzing the impacts of fertilizer-induced eutrophication on painted turtles (Chrysemys picta) in Wisconsin. She did her PhD at Dartmouth Univesrity and is now an assistant professor at Northeastern Illinois University.
