Allison's research is on the ecomorphology of artiodactyl mammals.  Using geometric morphometric analysis, she is investigating how hoof shape is related to habitat.  She is looking at how the shape of the hoof varies between the fore- and hindlimbs of species that have adaptations to different environments, how living in uncharacteristic environments (like zoos) affect the shape of the foot, and how hoof shape has evolved in ruminant artiodactyls.
